CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Three runs in the third and two more in the fifth, along with a solid five innings from starter Matt Brooks, saw the Charlotte 49ers score a 6-4 win over WKU on Saturday afternoon. The victory clinches the Niners fourth-straight series victory looking for the sweep on Sunday.
"It was ugly," began Head Coach Loren Hibbs. "We still have some really good players who haven't played well in the first two games of this series. It was another tough game. We hung there and got the job done."
Charlotte (27-19, 13-10 C-USA) got things going with their three-spot in the third beginning with a Harris Yett walk and Drew Ober single to left.
