CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The 2021 Charlotte women's soccer season officially opens at 5 p.m. Thursday when the 49ers play host to Kennesaw State at Transamerica Field. It marks the first of eight regular-season home matches for the Niners, including three of the season's first-four contests through the end of the month.
"It's our favorite time of year as a coaching staff," head coach John Cullen said. "We get to work a lot with the players throughout the preseason and spend a lot of quality time with them before school starts. This time has been valuable – we've had meetings, we've had training sessions, we've had team meals together, a lot of which we weren't able to do in person last year.
