CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Taking advantage of a perfect weather afternoon at the Halton-Wagner Tennis Complex, the Charlotte women’s tennis program had no trouble in defeating Gardner-Webb 6-1 Saturday. It marks the 49ers’ first spring season-opening triumph since 2012 and marked the first non one-point result in the series with the Runnin’ Bulldogs since 2011.
“I was very proud of the way the team performed today,” head coach Michaela Gorman said. “We’ve talked a lot about having positive energy, working together as a team and working hard to get points. I felt like everyone did that today.
