RALEIGH, N.C. – Charlotte baseball erased a 5-0 deficit with a six-spot in the seventh, but saw host NC State rally for four in the eighth and hold on for a 9-6 victory on Wednesday afternoon. The Niners had one final shot against the 12th-ranked Wolfpack with a pair of runners on in the ninth but couldn't cash in during the final frame.
"We have to do a better job commanding the strike zone," began Head Coach Loren Hibbs. "We have to do a better job moving around playing defense and have our RBI guys have better at bats in situations when we have runners in scoring position.
