The Charlotte 49ers (7-3) pulled out an impressive 2-1 win against Western Kentucky (2-6-2) on the 25th anniversary of the team on Friday night at Transamerica Field. With over 40 former players in attendance, the team was able to advance to 5-0 at home this season.
Both teams jumped off to a quick start, as a total of three goals were scored in the first nine minutes. The 49ers were able to jump first, as they scored a goal to make it 1-0 just three minutes into the game, when Annie Sorando had a goal on the assist by Megan Greene.
