CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The Charlotte women’s tennis team dropped a 4-0 decision to in-state foe East Carolina Thursday afternoon at the Charlotte Indoor Tennis Club. The two schools played inside due to the threat of inclement weather in the area throughout the day.
The Pirates opened the action by taking the doubles point, although the No. 3 Niners tandem of senior Tyler Baker and junior Macy Vonderschmidt battle tough against Michelle Castro and Katie Hoch of East Carolina (13-7) in an unfinished decision, 5-5.
Charlotte (5-8) could not gain any momentum in singles play, as it lost all three of its singles matches in straight sets.
