BILOXI, Miss. – UTSA posted a nine-run top of the third inning to help score an 11-1 victory over Charlotte in the delayed 2018 C-USA Tournament opener on Thursday morning. The Niners are now scheduled to face the loser of UAB/Southern Miss in a 9:30 p.m. eastern first pitch later Thursday night, all weather pending.
"It's hard to recover after a bad inning," stated Head Coach Loren Hibbs. "That's what hurts you in college baseball and we couldn't stop their momentum. Give UTSA credit, that one inning killed us."
Charlotte (31-23) got off to a solid start with a run in the first as Tommy Bullock's RBI single drove in Reece Hampton.
