GREENVILLE, S.C. – Charlotte led in each game, but Furman rallied in its final at bats, sweeping the doubleheader Wednesday at Pepsi Stadium.
"Tough day for the team – we need to close out games," Head Coach Aimee DeVos said. "We need to be able to score runners when they are in scoring position."
Haley Wiseman of Charlotte (8-14) and Furman (22-6) pitcher Lindsey Bert matched each other in the circle for nine innings in game one. However, Bert earned the victory when Caroline Cash laced a double to left center field, scoring the winning run from second in the ninth inning.
