CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Charlotte women's basketball grinded out a 40-minute victory Saturday afternoon on Alumnae Weekend, knocking off preseason Conference USA favorite UAB for the second-straight season, 60-56, inside Halton Arena. It was defense in the fourth quarter and proficiency at the foul line which helped lift the 49ers to the win.
LEADERS
Redshirt junior Jade Phillips put together her second-straight solid performance, finishing with a double-double of 20 points and 12 rebounds to lead all players in both categories. It marked her first double-double of the league slate and her fourth of the campaign.
