CHARLOTTE, N.C. – A four-point performance from senior midfielder Joe Brito, along with a strong night from the back line, pushed the Charlotte men's soccer team past South Carolina, 3-0, in its Conference USA opener on Saturday at Transamerica Field.
The Niners (5-2-0) have now claimed four consecutive victories over the Gamecocks (2-6-0) in the series between the programs and have upped their record to 8-1-1 against the boys from Columbia during the Kevin Langan era.
Brito finished his marvelous night with a pair of first half assists and his fourth goal of the season that came on a cool-as-you-like finish from the spot on a PK in the latter stages of the second half to put the evenings result on ice.
