CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Charlotte Softball earned their third win in a row after defeating the Boston University Terriers 10-9 in a thrilling come-from-behind, extra innings, walk-off victory.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Boston University scored first, hitting two two-run homers in the first two innings to put the Terriers up 4-0 early on. Charlotte began to answer back in the bottom of the second when London Dirks hit her second homer of the year to put the Niners on the board.
Charlotte went on to score four runs in the bottom of the third to take the lead 5-4 after back-to-back-to-back doubles (O'Hearn, Ritchie, Lord), but the lead was short-lived as Boston University quickly went back in front 6-5 in the top of the fourth and seemingly did not look back, taking a lead of 9-6 by the sixth inning.
