HUNTINGTON, W.Va. – A back-and-forth contest that featured 13 ties, 11 lead changes and the score tied for over 18 minutes landed on Marshall's side Saturday afternoon, as the Thundering Herd tallied the decisive basket with 3.1 seconds left to edge ahead of Charlotte, 63-62, in Conference USA women's basketball action.
Neither team led by more than eight, a margin held by the 49ers during the first period, but it was a close game throughout with the outcome not decided until just before the final horn.

Charlotte placed four starters in double figures, led by 19 from senior Laia Raventós to go along with her other game highs of seven assists and three steals.
