CHARLOTTE – Behind a career-high 23 points from and a Charlotte defense that allowed 48 points on 50 shots, the 49ers defeated visiting Richmond, 65-48, in non-conference play Wednesday (Nov. 13) evening.
Defensively, the Niners recovered perfectly from Saturday's loss at Utah State, where they allowed 103 points. Charlotte held the Spiders to 20-of-50 (40 percent) shooting from the field and 3-of-21 (14.3 percent) from behind the arc on Wednesday night. The Niners also allowed just two offensive rebounds to Richmond after giving up 16 to the Aggies.
