BOCA RATON, Fla. – Charlotte baseball appeared to bust out of the current five-game losing streak with a 5-1 lead at the halfway point, but host Florida Atlantic took advantage of five 49ers errors to rally for five runs and a 6-5 victory on Sunday afternoon.
"We don't like to lose," began Head Coach Loren Hibbs. "We were competitive in two of the three games against a top-25 team on the road. We have to play better defense, we're close, we have to make a few more adjustments and keep grinding through it."
Charlotte (15-16, 5-7 C-USA) took their first lead of the weekend in the top of the first as Drew Ober started by reaching on a FAU error before Jackson Mims moved him to second on a walk.
