CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Charlotte women's basketball hit the hardwood for over two hours Thursday, officially tipping off the start of the 2018-19 campaign with its first practice. It marks the eighth season for head coach Cara Consuegra, whose roster includes seven returners and six newcomers who will suit up for the 49ers for the first time this year.
Charlotte is coming off its most successful Conference USA campaign since returning to the league in 2013-14, tying for third in the regular-season standings. Three starters from that squad are back, including 2017-18 All-Conference USA First Team and All-Conference USA Defensive Team choice Laia Raventós.
