Birmingham, Ala. - The men's team leads with 52 points and the women's team is in sixth with 14 points after day one of the Conference Championships hosted by UAB. The men's team is led by pole vaulters Keon Howe and Elijah Cole, who took first and second place, respectively, and Paul Arredondo, who broke a school indoor record in the 5,000m. Chandler Horton leads the women's team with the only gold medal after running a personal record time in the 5,000m. In total, both teams tallied five medals and 18 personal records on the day.
