Men's Soccer Alum Kyle Parker Scores in MLS Debut

CHARLOTTE, N.C. - Former Charlotte 49ers men's soccer player Kyle Parker ('16) trained and played with Major League Soccer giants NYCFC last week in their friendly in Mexico against Club Necaxa, marking his MLS debut.

Coached by renowned French international Patrick Vieira and playing alongside internationally recognized superstars Andrea Pirlo and David Villa, Parker scored NYCFC's lone goal in the 2-1 loss to Nexaca.

After the Columbus Crew drafted Parker 31st in the 2016 MLS SuperDraft, the forward spent the season in the USL with the Wilmington Hammerheads. Parker appeared in 23 games and logged 998 minutes in his debut season.
