It's safe to say that tennis glory comes naturally for Megan Smith of the Charlotte 49ers. A two-time high school conference player of the year and 2013 State Championship MVP, Smith had become a household name in women's tennis in the state of North Carolina.
Being from Cary, a town where tennis reigns, Smith knew that transitioning south to Charlotte would pay dividends. "They (Charlotte) were great at maintaining communication with me leading up to my decision and I thought that was very important to join a team that's completely invested in you," said Smith.
The Fall 2016 Conference USA Academic Medal recipient has shown dedication in the classroom, while maintaining her on-court approach of working hard for every point and not taking any match for granted.
