McRae Advances to High Jump Finals at Olympic Trials

Charlotte 49ers five-time NCAA All-AmericanTrey McRae (Laurinburg, N.C./Scotland H.S.) advanced to Sunday’s final of the high jump at the 2016 US Olympic Trials following Friday’s qualifying performance in Eugene, Ore.

McRae qualified tied for first in a group of five athletes that cleared 2.14 (7-0 ¼) on their first attempt during the qualifying round. In all 14 athletes qualified for Sunday’s final by clearing the height in one of their three attempts.

Sunday’s final will be held at 6 pm eastern time. The top three finishers will advance to the 2016 Rio Olympics.
