Charlotte, N.C. – Jordi Massalle Ferrer set the program’s career singles win record as the Charlotte 49ers (5-2) won all nine matches to defeat Fairfield (3-6), 7-0, at the Halton-Wagner Tennis Complex.
“Our guys did exactly what we expected them to do today after a tough emotional match yesterday,” Charlotte coach Jesse Tarr said. “They played well, competed for every point and supported each other. Credit to Fairfield, they have a talented team that made us work for every point.”
Charlotte won all three doubles matches to claim the doubles point. At number two doubles, Charlotte’s Sam Rice and Sam Brazil defeated Fairfield’s Anthony Caputo and Jeffrey Rodgers, 6-0.
