WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – Freshman Margaux Maquet continued her undefeated stretch at the ITA Carolina Regional Friday with a pair of singles wins, advancing into the tournament's Round of 16, against some of the top competition throughout the ultra-competitive region.
NO DENYING THE ROOKIE
Competing in her first ITA Carolina Regional event, Margaux Maquet has shown signs of being a veteran and picked up two more singles victories Friday. She opened the day in the Round of 64, topping Furman's Madison Dillon 6-1, 4-6, 6-1. In the Round of 32 contest with North Carolina State's Jaeda Daniel, she used a tiebreaker triumph in the first set to cruise to the second-set win and a 7-6 (4), 6-1 decision.
