Charlotte, N.C. – Charlotte's Tommy Madden's game-winner proved to be enough as the 19th-ranked Charlotte 49ers (12-3-1, C-USA: 6-2-0) finished the regular season with a 1-0 victory over New Mexico (4-11-1, C-USA: 2-4-1) Saturday night at Transamerica Field. With the victory, the 49ers finished the regular-season 9-0 at home. Charlotte has not allowed a goal at home all season.
"It was a really close game but the last fifteen minutes showed what we are made of," said Charlotte 49ers head coach Kevin Langan. "I was really proud of the guys. The mindset that we had tonight was really special.
