CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Charlotte’s Josh Maciejewski put together a career afternoon on Sunday throwing a complete game, one-hitter to earn Conference USA’s Pitcher of the Week honors. In a 5-0 win over Marshall, Maciejewski faced the minimum in six of his nine innings that saw him retire 12-in-a-row at one point and 21 of 22 during innings two through eight.
The lone hit surrendered was a leadoff bunt single in the top of the first. A double play ball would help him get out of the inning. From there, Maciejewski was unhittable. The southpaw threw 17 first pitch strikes on Sunday.
