CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Charlotte starter Josh Maciejewski tossed a complete game, one-hitter to shutout Marshall 5-0 in Sunday’s Conference USA series-finale. Maciejewski needed 118 pitches and registered seven strikeouts during his fourth win of the year.
“Maciejewski was fantastic,” remarked Head Coach Loren Hibbs. “You really can’t pitch much better than that. That’s back-to-back Sundays that he’s pitched at a really, really high level. I’m proud of his effort. I’m also proud of the team for maintaining their composure, continuing to play and executing today.”
Maciejewski faced the minimum in six of his nine innings that saw the sophomore retire a stretch of 12-in-a-row and 21 of 22 during innings two through eight.
