CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Senior Josh Maciejewski worked into the ninth inning and had early run support as Charlotte scored a 7-1 victory over UAB in Thursday night's series-opener. The win gave the Niners their third-straight win to open up a league series having won each of the last two.
"On a short week, Maciejewski was really good," began Head Coach Loren Hibbs. "He threw really well tonight. UAB has a good team, they're dangerous offensively."
Maciejewski (4-1) finished his night with 8.1 innings of work allowing just one run on five hits with six more strikeouts.
