DENTON, Texas – Sophomore Mariah Linney scored a career-high 28 points, including 19-in-a-row at one point, but the Charlotte women's basketball team could not overcome a slow start to the second half in dropping a 68-63 decision at North Texas Saturday afternoon. Linney's point total marks the most for a 49ers' player this season.

Linney had the hot hand most of the night for the Niners, knocking down 8-of-17 from the field, including a pair of 3-pointers, and a career night at the foul line, finishing 10-of-13. Her 19-straight point stretch started in late second quarter and lasted through the third period until it was snapped midway through the fourth frame.
