CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Charlotte starter Colton Laws tied a career high with seven solid innings of work while breaking a career best with eight strikeouts helping the Niners to a 2-1 victory over Xavier on Friday afternoon. Jonah Patten followed with the two-out save with three punchouts as the hosts won their sixth-straight game.
"Today was a really good, hard-fought game," stated Head Coach Loren Hibbs. "Xavier has a good team, Lowther was pretty darn good. We played tremendous defense and were solid all the way around. Laws and Patten were both good today.
