CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Kiersten Berrier, Emma Ocker, Bailey Vannoy and Katie Marning each produce multi-hit games, though the 49ers were stymied in the late innings on Sunday, falling 7-4 to Conference USA opponent, Middle Tennessee at Sue M. Daughtridge Stadium.
Charlotte (11-22, 3-9) jumped out to an early 2-0 lead on Vannoy's opposite-field two-run home run in the first inning. The Leander, Texas, native cranked her third homer of the year into the wind in right-center to put the 49ers on top 2-0.
Middle Tennessee (21-16, 6-3) then responded in the top of the second with a four-run inning, taking the lead 4-2.
