IRVING, Texas -- Charlotte Men's Soccer's Lasse Laursen was named American Athletic Conference Defensive Player of the Week on Monday (Oct. 14) afternoon by the league office.
Laursen earned his first weekly honor of the season following the shutout of FIU last Saturday.
The senior from Silkeborg, Denmark played all 90 minutes as a central defender for the 49ers in the 0-0 draw. Laursen helmed a back line that limited the Panthers to just five total shots and only two on-target. Charlotte also surrendered just two corner kicks to FIU.
This season, the six-foot-three defender has played all but 21 minutes.
