Joseph Uchebo will continue to call Charlotte his home for a little longer. After spending one year at Charlotte under Mark Price, the Nigerian Center has joined the Charlotte Hornets summer-league roster that will compete in Orlando, Fla. The Hornets summer team will be coached by former New York Knick and NBA great Patrick Ewing.
During his single season at Charlotte, Uchebo averaged a double-double with 13.2 points and 11.5 rebounds. To top off the stellar season, Uchebo set a Conference USA single-season rebounding record with 380 total rebounds, breaking Kenyon Martin’s decade-long milestone. Also, by averaging a double-double for the season, Uchebo rank Big Joe, as many called him, quickly became a fan favorite among Niner Nation with his trademark “Uchebo Flex” that he would flash after a big play.
