ST. MORITZ, Switzerland - Partnered with one of the United States' greatest bobsledders in Elana Meyers Taylor, Charlotte track & field alumna Briauna Jones took gold in the women's bobsled at the 2017 St. Moritz World Cup on Saturday morning.
The former star track athlete and her partner earned the gold medal by narrowly edging out Canadian duo Kaillie Humphries - the reigning Olympic champion - and Melissa Lotholz. After the first heat, Jones and Meyers Taylor were 0.06 seconds off the leading time, but they came back strong to post a time of 1:07.73 in the second heat and 2:16.
