DALLAS - After his record-breaking pole vault performance at the Gamecock Invitation hosted by South Carolina this past weekend, Keon Howe was named Conference USA Male Field Athlete of the Week. This marks the second week in a row that a field athlete was honored after Terrell Adams won the accolade the week before last.
The Charlotte, N.C., native broke the outdoor school record, set by himself in 2019, and the facility record with a personal best pole vault of 5.51m (18'-1") to win the event out of 17 athletes. This performance not only shattered records, but now ranks ninth nationally and first in the conference.
