Charlotte, N.C. - Senior pole vaulter Keon Howe garnered his first Conference USA Male Field Athlete of the Week honor after an impressive, record-breaking performance last weekend at the South Carolina Invitational. Howe is the first Charlotte athlete to take home a Conference USA award during the 2020 indoor season.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Howe finished first in the pole vault invite section of the Carolina Invitational last weekend with a personal record mark of 5.41m (17'-9.00"). His vault not only broke a facility record, but broke Charlotte's indoor program record of 5.35m (17'-6.5"), which was set by Howe in December at the JDL Early Bird Invitational.
