HOUSTON -- The Texans have fired head coach David Culley, he confirmed to multiple media outlets in Houston on Thursday.
"I'm disappointed, but it's part of the business," Culley told SportsTalk 790. "I understand and I move on."
Culley told both SportsTalk 790 and KRIV-TV that he had three years left on his contract and that his salary is guaranteed.
Offensive coordinator Tim Kelly also was fired Thursday, a source told ESPN's Adam Schefter.
New England Patriots linebackers coach Jerod Mayo is expected to emerge as a leading candidate for the Texans' head coaching job, sources told Schefter.
