EL PASO, TEXAS – Charlotte (8-9) plated six runs in the top of the sixth inning, capped off by Meredith Harris' go-ahead grand slam, rocketing the 49ers to an 11-6 Conference USA win over UTEP (5-16) at Helen of Troy Field on Saturday. Charlotte fell 4-0 in game two as Carson Pace set a career-high with seven strikeouts.
Exchanging the lead four times, Charlotte broke things open when Harris blasted her second home run of the season, a no-doubt grand slam to straight away center. The 49ers scored six runs on five hits in the inning.
