Charlotte 49ers redshirt senior defensive end Tyriq Harris (Roanoke, Va.) has been named a semifinalist for the National Football Foundation William V. Campbell Trophy, annually bestowed to the nation's top football scholar-athlete.
"Tyriq continues to set and re-set the bar of what it is to be a student-athlete at our university," said second-year head coach Will Healy. "I am in awe of who he is as a person, how he dedicates himself to everything he does - and that he lives every single day with a smile on his face. I don't just feel fortunate to be his coach; I feel fortunate to know him.
