CHARLOTTE, N.C. - Having two weeks off wasn't a problem for the Charlotte 49ers softball team (15-7, 1-0 C-USA) after opening conference play against the Middle Tennessee Blue Raiders (14-13, 0-1 C-USA) with a 9-5 victory in extra innings thanks to a walk-off, grand slam from Kourtney Gremillion.
"That's why we brought Kourtney here, to do that right there," head coach Ashley Chastain said. "She is a special player for us. She has a ton of experience, including NCAA postseason experience and I thought it really showed up for her right there.
