HOUSTON, Texas – Nik Graves earned his first career double-double with a 23-point, 11-rebound performance on Saturday (Jan. 4) afternoon, but it was Rice (11-4, 2-0 AAC) that claimed the 68-55 victory over Charlotte Men's Basketball (7-8, 0-2) in American Athletic Conference play.
Graves grabbed a career-high 11 boards and shot 7-of-12 from the field to secure his sixth 20-point game of the season.
Despite ranking sixth nationally with 27.2 free throw attempts per game, Charlotte attempted a season-low 11 free throws.
Rice outrebounded Charlotte 41-25 and shot 11-of-21 (52.4 percent) from the field and 13-of-13 from the charity stripe in the second half to pull away from the Niners.
