Gillespie spun another gem on the bump, striking out a career-high 13 batters without issuing a walk while giving up two runs on five hits scattered across the first eight innings. Fresh off of his first collegiate victory on Tuesday, sat the side down in order in the ninth to record the first save of his career.
Gillespie's 13 strikeouts mark the second time he's crossed the double-digit threshold this year and gives the team a total of 12 games with 10+ strikeouts on the mound this season.
