CHARLOTTE, N.C. – For the second-straight season, Charlotte volleyball's Yumi Garcia has been named Conference USA's Libero of the Year while freshman Tyra Galloway has been named the league's Defensive Player of the Year in her first season.
Garcia broke her own school record set last year this season with 663 digs entering the C-USA tournament on Friday. Those 663 digs are third-most in the nation while her 5.62 digs/set leads the league and sits ninth in the country. Garcia got off to a fast start with 93 digs during opening weekend's four matches of the Charlotte Invitational.
