KANNAPOLIS, N.C. – Charlotte men's golf saved its best round for last as it shot a 291 (+7) in route to a tie for eighth place finish with Akron at the Cabarrus County Irish Creek Collegiate at The Club at Irish Creek in Kannapolis.
Victor Wiggins had the team’s best round Sunday, while Seth Gandy carded the 49ers’ best score over the three-round tournament that also featured 36 holes Saturday. Gandy ended the tournament on the individual side with a 211 (-2) to earn a spot among a four-way tie for fourth.
Gandy shot a one-over 72 with a string of pars from the 11th through the 17th holes.
