CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Charlotte women's soccer will play all-time game No. 500 in program history when it plays host to Akron at Transamerica Field Friday evening. The match is slated to begin at 5 p.m. in the first-ever matchup between the two programs, as it opens a 49ers soccer doubleheader with the men's squad following against FGCU.
"We are certainly a lot fitter than we were a week ago, having played two overtime games," head coach John Cullen said. "We'll be better for it because we played those extra minutes and we got more soccer work on our legs.
