MT. PLEASANT, S.C. – The two freshmen on this year’s Charlotte women’s tennis roster earned the lone 49ers points Friday as the Niners dropped a 5-2 decision versus Marshall at the College of Charleston’s Patriots Point facility in Mt. Pleasant, South Carolina.
Despite only the two wins, head coach Michaela Gorman said she was “very proud of the team fight today.”
Charlotte (5-7, 0-1 C-USA) opened its lone regular-season Conference USA match with a triumph at the No. 3 doubles position, as senior Tyler Baker and junior Macy Vonderschmidt handed the Thundering Herd’s Marija Bogicevic and Anne Gulsrad a 7-5 setback.
