CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Trey Freeman scored six of his career-high 38 points in overtime to give Old Dominion a 74-69 victory over Charlotte on Saturday night.
Freeman forced the overtime with a 3-pointer with 18 seconds left in regulation and got his career high on a jumper that made it a two-possession game with 17 seconds left in OT.
Freeman had four quick points in overtime as Charlotte didn't score until Braxton Ogbueze's layup with 1:08 left. Aaron Bacote had two free throws for the Monarchs at 56 seconds but Joseph Uchebo quickly got that back with a layup at 45 seconds before Freeman's last bucket.
