CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Behind four double-figure scorers and clutch free throw shooting down the stretch, the Charlotte 49ers (5-4, C-USA: 1-1) defeated the preseason Conference USA favorite WKU Hilltoppers (8-3, C-USA: 1-1), 75-71, in overtime in Halton Arena.
Jahmir Young scored a game-high 24 points to go along with seven rebounds and seven assists. Jordan Shepherd scored 15 points while dishing out five assists. Milos Supica scored 12 points and grabbed seven rebounds. Jhery Matos rounded out the 49ers double-figure scorers with 10 points while recording four steals.
