Former Charlotte 49ers men's soccer standout defender Callum Montgomery has been called up to Canada's National Team for their Concacaf Men's Olympic Qualifying Championship in Guadalajara, Mexico, March 18-30.
Montgomery was recently traded from FC Dallas, who selected him as the fourth overall pick in the 2019 MLS SuperDraft, to the Minnesota United FC.
STELLAR CAREER AT CHARLOTTE
As a senior in 2018, Montgomery was named first-team United Soccer Coaches Association All-American. Montgomery garnered Conference USA Defensive Player of the Year honors as well. He was a semifinalist for the 2018 MAC Hermann Trophy, which is awarded to the top player in college soccer.
