CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Alumni of the Charlotte baseball program put together another solid minor league season representing the hometown 49ers. Below is a quick capsule of how each player managed their seasons.
BRETT NETZER (Boston Red Sox)
Netzer played 130 games this season, all at double-A Portland in the Eastern League, hitting .247 with eight homers and 50 driven in. Netzer recorded 29 multi-hit games, three with at-least three hits and drove in a season best five with a long ball on August 30. Netzer posted career highs in games (130), AB's (454), runs (56), HR's (8), walks (45) and tied his top mark of 50 RBI.
