CHARLOTTE, N.C. – A hard-fought, fiery doubles point that fell to No. 47 Charlotte helped carry the 49ers into singles play, where they won three of the four decisions to lock up a 4-1 home victory over James Madison Friday afternoon at the Halton-Wagner Tennis Complex.

The visitors jumped out in front by taking the win on court No. 1 but the Niners showed no quit in any of three highly-contested matches. The rally was started in the No. 2 meeting, where sophomores Jenna Dean and Margaux Maquet leveled things with their 7-5 triumph over Kylie Moulin and Jona Roka.
