RUSTON, La. – Bethany Doty had a career day at the plate with three hits; Katie Manring and Lizzy Birch both homered again, as the Charlotte 49ers dropped the series finale 10-5 vs. Louisiana Tech at the Lady Techsters Softball Complex on Sunday.
Charlotte (11-26, 3-12) out-hit Louisiana Tech (30-9, 10-2) twelve to eight in the final game of the series, but couldn't outlast the six-run first inning put up by Tech.
Louisiana Tech plated six runs in the first inning on three hits and a walk, highlighted by a grand slam from Lindsay Edwards.
