CHARLOTTE, N.C. – East Carolina, ranked #19, held on in the ninth during game one and used the offensive momentum in game two taking a Saturday DH and series sweep over Charlotte baseball. The Pirates survived for a 6-5 victory in game one before claiming a 12-2 nightcap victory.
"East Carolina has a good club," began Head Coach Loren Hibbs. "We certainly didn't play up to the standard we needed to play. We were competitive and had chances to win the first two and the third one got out of control. We have to get better.
